Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

• Take three (3) call shifts during the week; hours of shifts may vary.
• Take five (5) eight-hour weekend shifts in a 6-week period. 
• Attend two (2) meetings per month which occur on the first and third Mondays.
• Effectively communicate with patients and other members of the care team.
• Flexibility and willingness to cover when one ambulance is out on a transfer.

Core Competencies

• Ability to think and make decisions quickly.
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Minnesota EMT-B license required
• Current motor vehicle operator’s license required
• Obtain ongoing training on own time in order to fulfill the MN relicensing requirements

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

• May be exposed to patients with infectious diseases. 
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
