Food Service Aide - 24 hours/pay period (Eve/Wknd)
Job Summary
To assist cook in the preparation and service of meals. To assist in the dishwashing process after meals.
Part-Time: 24 hours per pay period | 4:00 - 8:00 pm | e/o weekend and rotating holidays

Responsibilities
4 hour Shift:
- Serve resident meals, clean tables, wash dishes
- Do food preparation needed for menu according to cook’s directions
- Will do cleaning jobs as assigned each day, and any time it is needed per cook directions
- Will communicate w co-worker to ensure the kitchen floor is swept and mopped by end of shift
May also be asked to perform the duties below for an 8 hour shift:
- Set up desserts, which includes putting food in chafing dishes and setting the tables.
- Serve meals at the Care Center, which includes: serving residents, making coffee
- Clean the dining rooms, which include clearing the tables and the counter area completely.
- Do the dishwashing , which includes preparing for washing, washing dishes, and putting dishes away.
- Stock products, which includes filling the juice machine.
- Clean – this includes mopping the floor and dumping garbage and daily cleaning assignment.
- Arrive at work promptly and complete the job as assigned.
- Follow sanitation guidelines as specified in the Dietary Policy Manual.
- Work with fellow employees to meet the objectives of the department.
- Complete tasks per the given job schedule.
- Work in an environment that may expose an individual to communicable disease.
- Communicate with staff, residents, and visitors including verbal and written.
- Use cleaning chemicals per written guidelines.
- Lift Correctly.
- Use equipment per written guidelines.
- Will attend 80% of departmental, quarterly and other required meetings
- Will know and follow the JMHS Standards of behavior
- Other duties as assigned.

- Work productively and positively with other staff.
- Must enjoy geriatrics and possess the ability to work well with other people.
- Must have basic understanding of quality food production, therapeutic nutrition and sanitation practices.
Education/Experience/Licensure
- Entry level position on the job training.
- Education sufficient to read, write, and speak English as needed for the job.
Working Environment - Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
- Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
