Job Summary

JMHS has a 12-week internship opportunity for a Clinic Assistant working under the direction of the Clinic Manager. This opportunity will provide practical application while developing your skills in a professional medical setting. This will give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the corporate healthcare industry and business continuity.

This position will be day hours Monday-Friday and will be paid at $15/hour.

Responsibilities

• Taking basic vital signs
• Assisting patients to and from various departments (clinic, lab, radiology)
• Disinfect and clean exam and procedure rooms
• Stocking exam and procedure rooms
• Maintain and organize supply inventory
• Keep patient education materials organized and stocked
• Assist with filing and clerical duties as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Licensure

• Students must have completed either their junior or senior year of high school and intend to complete graduation requirements. Or they must be a post-secondary student enrolled in a Minnesota educational institution or be a resident of Minnesota enrolled in an out-of-state program. Post-secondary students must be enrolled in a two- or four-year health care degree program, with the intention of completing the program.

• Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
