Laundry Aide: 24 hours/pay period (Days, E/O Saturday)

Job Summary

The Laundry Aide maintains clean linens, resident clothing and other fabrics by collecting dirty laundry and delivering clean laundry to the proper place and in the proper manner.

This position is typically scheduled for 6:00am-2:30pm shifts. Current opening works one week on (M, Wed, Sat) and one week off.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates behaviors that align with Johnson Memorial Health Services’ Core Values: Together, Kindness and Trust.
  • Gathering soiled linens, sorting processing, and redistributing of linens throughout the facility.
  • Operating of laundry and linen processing machines.
  • Removing damaged, torn, and stained linens from service, notifying supervisor so appropriate inventories are maintained.
  • Using laundry chemicals according to manufacturers’ directions for use, labeling, storage, and cleanup.
  • Practicing good work safety procedures by wearing personal protective equipment/PPE, such as gloves, mask, splash shields, and/or gowns as directed and pertinent to OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.
  • Work productively and positively with other staff.

  • Knowledge of operation of cleaning machines such as vacuums, floor scrubbers and TRU-D.

Education/Experience/Licensure

  • Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided

Working Environment/Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
